In my opinion the song is about putting on a smile even when all u feel like doing is crying. maddie was supposed to be the person on the outside but is unable to keep herself happy because her feelings just over come her, thats why she was smiling at the begining and sad and emotional at the end. the reason the singer is in jeans and stuff is because shes supposed to be upset and sort of in her own world and doesnt care what anyone else thinks and this video came before chloes
